Oma

Last weekend, Scott, Orrin and I went to Canada to visit Orrin's 101 year old great-great-grandma. We had a great time visiting with Oma K and Oma A on friday and saturday morning. Then Saturday afternoon we drove into Toronto and stumbled upon the St. Lawrence Market and Woofstock. We walked around for a bit, ate dinner, then headed toward home.

And a special moment with Oma A

This was the walkway to the St. Lawrence Market. What a great place! Wish we had one in Grand Rapids.
At Woofstock. There were dogs everywhere.

We got tired on the way home so we let Orrin drive.

10 months

Ok, I'm way late on this! Orrin is developing like crazy and we are just having so much fun with him.

What's going on this month:

We have pretty much completely cut out baby food and he eats what we eat. Except we don't eat his yogurt (plain/unsweetened) because its gross, even with fruit mixed in.

He is getting more cuddly again. He likes to lay his head down on our shoulder before we lay him down to bed. I realize he is playing us to get a couple extra minutes but I don't care!

Speaking of playing us, he is very much getting a mind of his own and does not like to be told what to do. I tried to dip his hand in finger paint and stamp it on paper to make father's day cards and he threw a fit! Paint got everywhere except on that paper. When I finally just stuck him in his high chair and squirted some paint on the paper and let him play with it on his own, he thought it was fun.

He is still not crawling, or moving forward in any way. But he can roll, or push backward and get pretty much wherever he wants to go. Except when he gets stuck under the chair.

He is working on more words. Mama and Dada are pretty clear and consistent. But we also think he is saying hi and bye. And he'll say "kuh" when I say book, and "sh" when we see fish. And sometimes we swear we hear other things, but they all sound alike so who knows.

He likes hammers and pounding things, and spatulas.

We notice he is definitely making the shift from baby to toddler.

Oh yeah, I was thinking about cutting his hair, but now we've decided to let it grow out so he can have a justin beiber do. Its almost there.

Femivore?

This article is fabulous. It almost makes me feel understood, like I'm not the only crazy one. And I don't even have chickens yet. So Cara, you're way ahead of me!
